How long is the Cammino?
The full route is about 90 km, completed in 7 walking days. The loop begins and ends in Tenaglie and includes daily stages ranging from 9 to 20 km.
Is the route difficult?
The Cammino is considered moderate.
The terrain is mostly unsurfaced country paths, forest tracks and quiet rural lanes.
Elevation changes are generally gentle, though some stages include longer climbs or descents.
The route is perfect for walkers with a moderate level of fitness, and many stages offer shortcuts or alternatives.
Is the route well marked?
Yes.
You’ll follow the official yellow waymarks of the Cammino dei Borghi Silenti, clear and easy to recognise along the entire loop.

- The tour runs daily from 1 March to 31 October.
- Spring and autumn are ideal, with mild temperatures, blooming or colourful landscapes, and long daylight hours.
- Summer is possible too, especially with early starts to avoid midday heat.
How do I reach the start and finish?
You travel easily by train to Orvieto, the nearest main hub.
From there, your package includes a private transfer to Tenaglie, where the loop begins.
At the end of the trip, we provide a transfer to Alviano train station, where you can continue by rail to Rome, Florence, Perugia or any other destination in Italy.
What about food and local culture?
This is a journey for lovers of good, simple, authentic cuisine:
local olive oil, truffles, umbrichelli pasta, pecorino cheese, game dishes and excellent wines like Orvieto Classico.
Villages along the route are small and atmospheric — perfect for slow exploration, tasting local products, meeting artisans and enjoying an Italy far from the crowds.
