Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know Before You Walk

How many people are in the group?

The group is never more than 15 people; more often, it's about 8 to 10 people plus the guide.

All our guides are certified hiking guides because we want you to feel safe and supported in the best way possible.

We assign guides to our tours primarily based on their knowledge of the area so they can share it with you in the most meaningful way.

All our guides have different personalities and interests: birdwatchers, watercolorists, biologists, cooks, climbers, and musicians.

The passions are many, but they all share one thing: they are passionate ambassadors of the places and traditions they love.

One of the reasons our travellers choose a group trip is because they don't feel ready to travel alone yet, because they have no walking experience, or because they want extra support.

That said, some training is always recommended, even for the easiest treks.

Ask us for advice and we will be able to tell you whether the trip you are interested in is suitable for your fitness level.

In any case, don't worry: if you don't feel able to tackle a day of walking, the guide and our office team will help you find the best solution to reach the next accommodation, for example by public transport or private transfer.

Usually, yes.

The single room supplement is indicated on the trip page.

There are often only a few single rooms available, so if you are interested we recommend booking as early as possible.

In some cases, the trip includes only dormitories or shared rooms, with no option for a private room. This is always clearly stated on the trip page.

Yes.

We usually match solo travellers of the same sex who would like to share a room.

You will find this information on your trip page.

For meals not included, the guide usually books a restaurant in agreement with the group so everyone can eat together.

For daily picnic lunches during the walk, food is typically purchased together before setting off.

Yes.

Write to us and we will be happy to help.
