Everything You Need to Know Before You Walk

How do I book a SloWays holiday?

If you've chosen a trip and would like to proceed with a booking, there are two ways to get started.

  1. Use our online price calculator, available on every trip page, to receive a provisional quotation. After submitting your request, our team will verify availability and contact you to complete the booking.

  2. Contact us directly by email at info@sloways.eu or by phone on (+39) 055 2340736. We'll ask for details such as your preferred travel dates, the number of travellers, room requirements, and any special requests.

Your booking is confirmed only after we have checked accommodation availability and sent you the final confirmation.

Yes, additional nights can usually be added before, during, or after your trip, subject to accommodation availability.

If you're unsure where an extra night would be most worthwhile, our team will be happy to suggest the best locations along your route.

Yes, dogs are welcome on many of our holidays.

Dog-friendly itineraries are clearly marked on our website and can also be filtered through the Trip Finder.

If you're travelling with a dog, contact us before booking so we can confirm all arrangements.

Yes, families are always welcome.

Many itineraries can be adapted for children by reducing walking distances, arranging transfers, or booking suitable room configurations.

No.

Your booking request is processed only after accommodation and service availability have been checked.

Once everything has been confirmed, you will receive your official booking confirmation and payment instructions.

Yes.

A deposit of 30% of the total trip price is generally required to secure your booking.

For last-minute reservations, full payment may be requested immediately.

Once all services have been confirmed, you'll receive your final invoice and balance payment details.

We recommend booking at least two months before departure.

This increases the likelihood of securing the best accommodation options and provides plenty of time to organise your trip.

Some popular routes, such as the Camino de Santiago, should ideally be booked even earlier due to high demand.

Your travel documentation is normally sent by email approximately one month before departure.

A printed version can also be requested and delivered to your accommodation for an additional fee.

Yes, GPS tracks can be provided on request.

You can also use the SloWays App, available for iOS and Android, which allows offline navigation and access to maps for your entire trip.

Yes.

We inform all accommodations of any dietary requirements or special requests communicated during the booking process.

We also recommend reminding the hotel directly upon arrival to ensure your needs are fully addressed.

No, we do not currently provide flight or train ticket booking services.

However, we can arrange private transfers to and from airports or railway stations when requested.

Availability and inclusion of these services depend on the itinerary selected.

In many self-guided itineraries and long-distance walking routes, it is possible to modify the starting point provided it remains on the established route.

For guided group tours and some specific itineraries, changes may not be possible.

Contact us about your chosen trip and we'll be happy to check the available options.

We generally use 3-star hotels, B&Bs, and agriturismi, although some itineraries may include 2-star or 4-star properties depending on local availability.

Private bathrooms are normally included, except in specific situations such as mountain huts, where any differences will be clearly stated in advance.

We prioritise accommodation with strong local character, welcoming hospitality, and convenient locations along the route.

Weather is one of the few elements beyond our control, but rain does not have to ruin your holiday.

With suitable waterproof clothing and equipment, walking in wet conditions can still be enjoyable.

If severe weather or official alerts affect your route, contact our team and we will help identify the safest and most appropriate solution.

Please leave your luggage, clearly labelled with your name, at reception by 8:30 am.

It is normally delivered to your next accommodation by approximately 4:00 pm.

We recommend carrying a small daypack with everything you may need during the day, including a change of clothes.

Cancellation conditions depend on when the booking is cancelled.

The applicable charges vary according to the timing of the cancellation and the services booked.

Please consult our booking conditions for complete details before confirming your reservation.
