Our 2025 Sustainability Report is out

13 Mar 2026

Every journey leaves a trace.
In the landscapes we cross, in the people we meet along the way, and in the communities that welcome us.
For this reason, for many years we have been working to build a more conscious model of tourism — one that creates value for local communities while reducing environmental impact as much as possible.
Today we are pleased to share our 2025 Sustainability Report, the document where we transparently present the actions we took over the past year to improve our environmental, social and organisational impact.
For us, it is not just a report.
It is a responsibility — and also an invitation to everyone who travels with us to be part of this journey.
Here are some of the highlights.

A journey that continues

In 2025 we confirmed our ESG rating “B – Good level of sustainability”, an indicator that measures company performance across three key sustainability areas: environmental impact, social responsibility and governance.
This result confirms the strength of the path we started several years ago and shows that our initiatives are producing real results.
However, sustainability is never a final destination — it is an ongoing journey of continuous improvement.

Renewable energy powering our offices

One of the most immediate ways to reduce environmental impact is through energy choices.
In 2025 all the electricity used in our offices was certified 100% renewable energy.
This means that our daily operations — from planning trips to assisting travellers — are powered by green energy.
A small but meaningful step that contributes to reducing carbon emissions and supporting the transition towards cleaner energy systems.

SlowBags: zero-emission luggage transport

Anyone who has walked along the Via Francigena knows how helpful luggage transport can be during a long-distance journey.
In 2025 we launched SlowBags, the first fully electric luggage transport service along the Lucca–Siena section of the Via Francigena.
Over the year:

  • we travelled more than 35,000 km
  • avoiding around 5,500 kg of CO₂ emissions compared to a conventional vehicle.

It is a practical example of how even logistics services can evolve towards sustainable solutions.

Measuring emissions to reduce impact

Improving environmental performance begins with understanding it.
For this reason we continuously monitor the emissions linked to our activities and supply chain.
This analysis allows us to identify areas where we can intervene and define long-term reduction goals.
Transparency and measurement are essential tools for real improvement.

Reducing waste and building a sustainable culture

Sustainability also lies in everyday actions.
In our offices we implemented waste management systems with separate recycling for paper, plastic, glass, organic waste and electronic materials.
During the past year the overall amount of waste produced remained very limited, reflecting growing attention to reducing waste and using resources responsibly.
Even more important is the development of an internal culture that encourages environmentally conscious behaviour.

People at the centre

Sustainability is not only about the environment — it is also about people.
In 2025 we invested heavily in team development, delivering over 600 hours of training focused on sustainability, safety and innovation.
Topics included:

  • the UN Agenda 2030 and sustainable development
  • responsible resource management
  • waste reduction
  • digital innovation
  • workplace safety and data protection.

Investing in knowledge helps create a team capable of addressing future sustainability challenges.

Slow tourism and local territories

One of the pillars of our work is promoting slow tourism.
Walking and cycling allow travellers to experience destinations with greater respect, reducing environmental impact while strengthening connections with local communities.
In 2025 we developed new walking and cycling itineraries designed to:

  • reduce tourism seasonality
  • highlight lesser-known destinations
  • support local economies.

A more balanced tourism model benefits both travellers and the places they visit.

A more sustainable supply chain

Sustainability involves our entire network of partners.
In 2025 we involved 90 suppliers in an ESG evaluation process, and 85 of them signed a formal commitment to environmental sustainability.
This means working with partners who share values such as:

  • environmental protection
  • respect for human rights
  • transparency and integrity
  • support for local communities.

Because truly sustainable tourism is built together.

Certifications and transparency

To ensure high and verifiable standards we maintain several international certifications, including:

  • ISO 14001 for environmental management
  • ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety
  • ISO 9001 for quality management
  • Travelife certification, a globally recognised sustainability standard in tourism.

These certifications help us maintain a responsible and transparent management system.

The journey continues

The Sustainability Report is much more than a document.
It tells the story of a journey that grows every year thanks to our team, our partners and everyone who chooses to travel with us.
Every itinerary we design, every service we improve and every decision we take contributes to a shared vision:
travelling while leaving a positive impact on places and people.
And if you travel with us, you are part of that journey too.
Step by step.
