This is the final section of the Camino del Norte, one of the more demanding Camino routes. With 160 km over 12 days, daily distances average around 13-14 km, but some stages are longer and the terrain includes hills and forested paths. If you have not walked a multi-day route before, we recommend building up with shorter walks beforehand. That said, many walkers complete this section as their first Camino experience and find the pace very manageable.
The final section of the Camino del Norte starts from the coast and moves inland, heading towards the Cathedral of Santiago. Towards the end of the route, it merges with the Camino Francés, creating a special moment as many pilgrims join together to walk the last kilometers to the long-awaited destination. This itinerary is set in the Spanish countryside, passing through peaceful villages, monasteries, medieval towns, and much more. It's particularly fascinating to watch the landscape change from coastal to mountainous, becoming more urbanized as you approach Santiago.
