The Pilgrimage on the steps of Saint James of Compostela was born in 1800, following the rediscovery of the history of the apostle. The first part of the Compostela trail leads from the town of Puy en Velay to Aumont Aubrac: it offers a pleasant walking experience with views on the Auvergne volcanoes natural reserve.
The Camino Sanabrés, also known as the Mozarabic Camino, can be considered a branch of the Via de la Plata, the ancient pilgrimage and communication route to link the South of the peninsula with Galicia and the North.
Stunning cliffs, coastal paths and impressive views of the Cantabrian Sea. Peaceful forests, green pastures dotted with traditional Basque farms or caserios. All of this will accompany you along the Camino del Norte and Basque Coast on an adventure in gorgeous Green Spain.
This second section of the way of Compostela connects the city of Aumont-Aubrac to Conques by taking the highlands of Aubrac. It is through volcanic and green landscapes: then through the Lot valley, you will enter in the department of Aveyron. The trip ends in the historical village of Conques.
The Pilgrims' Trail to Santiago de Compostela is one Europe's great historical migrations. And it all began with the Camino Primitivo! This route takes you through the green countryside of Asturias and Galicia, along the oldest route to Santiago.
