The Camino di Oropa is among our travellers' favorite trips: beautiful and surprising, easy to reach, perfect for those who are on their first walking holiday.
Just one hour drive from Milan and in Piedmont, the territory of Biella is a place of untamed beauty, extending from the agricultural plain towards the natural amphitheatre of Serra Morenica range and the rugged peaks of Alpi Biellesi: four stages, all different, from ancient forests to open pastures, from fortified Medieval hamlets to Marian shrines in the mountains.
The trip ends at the Oropa Sanctuary, among the most important places of Marian worship in the world, the dome of which is well visibile from much of Piedmont: between botanical gardens, scenic cable car rides and rock walls filled with colorful ex-voto to the Black Madonna, this is the perfect ending to a surpising, ever changing trip.
