A classic bicycle tour that takes you from the german capital to the city of the 'Little Mermaid'. Pedal through the scenic lake district, take a ferry from Rostock to the white cliffs of Møn Island, and cycle along the danish coast to Downtown Copenhagen.
Individual arrival to Oranienburg, that can be reached through the S-Bahn (commuter train)
On the first day of your trip, you cycle along the Oder-Havel-Canal to Liebenwalde. You then continue to follow the Havel to Zehdenick.
Overnight in Zehdenick/Fürstenberg or nearby.
Today, you will encounter the legendary Lake Stechlin, that has inspired sevral artists: it has also been immortalized in literature by Theodor Fontane. Overnight in Neustrelitz.
During this stage, you will encounter one the trip highlights: the Müritz National Park. Along the way you will see the small village of Ankershagen, where Schliemann (who discovered Troy), grew up. Overnight in the Waren area.
The Nossentiner Heide National Park is a quiet wooden area, perfect for cycling at a relax pace. Once out of the green, you will get to Krakow, a town on the lake of the same name.
You cycle along the Bützow-Güstrow-Canal. If you wish to relax a little and skip one section, en route you can take a train to Rostock.
In the morning you take the ferry from Rostock harbour to Gedser (approximate duration of travel: 2 hours). Once on the Danish side, you will enjoy lovely stretches on dikes and wooden areas: you can also relax and enjoy the sun on Falster's beautiful beach.
Cycle along the coast to the old merchant city of Stubbekøbing. It will be worth your while to take a stroll through town before taking the ferry to the island of Bogø. Continue to the island of Møn. Overnight in a comfortable country hotel near Stege.
Cross the bridge from Møn to Zealand. Continue north through the coastal landscape. Cottages and manor houses dot the surrounding countryside. It is approx. 52 km / 32 mi to Fakse and approx. 68 km / 42 mi to the cliffs at Rødvig. Travellers are responsible for their own transportation by train to Køge.
Today's leg of the tour leads you along the beaches. You may like to visit the Museum of Modern Art in Ishøj. Copenhagen is enchanting. A visit to the Tivoli Gardens is a must and a stroll around the old harbor is a great way to crown your day. Overnight in Copenhagen.
Depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homeward transportation. Please let us know at time of booking if you would like to extend your stay in Copenhagen.
