Our documentation will be sent to you by e-mail two weeks before your departure. Here you will find all the information you need for your trip: list of facilities that will welcome you, maps and detailed descriptions of the route, practical tips to make the most of your trip.
When you arrive at your first hotel booked, you will find a package containing the same information in paper format, so you do not need to print and take everything with you.
In detail, you will receive:
Target Manual
This is the preliminary information on the destination, on the organization, on the preparation for the trip, on the equipment to be worn.
Travel notes
These are the practical information on each leg of the journey. For each day you will find a description of the stage with the main points of interest, useful notes on the place of arrival, refreshment points, indications about variations or possibility of shortening the route with transfers and public transport.
There is also a description of the route, which with indications and symbols will allow you to follow the itinerary point by point - this last description is not present for journeys along the Via Francigena, because the route is entirely marked and a detailed description it is not necessary.
Do not forget, however, that we provide in any case the complete maps and the app (link to the section of the APP)
Maps
These are the maps that show the route of all the stages. In journeys where a "point by point" description of the route is also provided, any indication as "turn right" is marked with a number that you will find on your maps. In this way you will be able to easily follow the path keeping an eye on your position.
Voucher
The voucher will be sent to you along with the travel confirmation: it contains a summary of all the services booked.
Show the dates you will stay in a specific hotel or the time you will be transfered, as well as the numbers and addresses of those who perform these services.
App
It will allow you to follow the path with your mobile phone or another device with GPS navigation - find out more in the appropriate section.)
The Via Francigena App of sloWays is free to download for iOS and Android: it allows you to follow the path (both pedestrian and cycle) of the Via Francigena from the Great St. Bernard Pass to Rome, on a clear and intuitive map that uses GPS navigation .
And if internet coverage is not available? No problem: you can download the maps on your device in the presence of a Wi-Fi connection and then consult them even without coverage.

The App was developed by SloWays in collaboration with the European Association of Vie Francigene.
